California Dreaming

Dude!

I’ve arranged to get some Cal-i-for-ni-a rays in April and May. Going to La La Land for the LA Times Festival of Books and I’m going to hang out for a week. It’ll be AWESOME.

Then I’m going to Vegas Baby for the weekend to catch up some of the peeps there and to see my nephew. . .

I know it’s three months away but I am already planning what I am going to eat.

Pancakes and French Press coffee at The Griddle.

Tuna Melt and onion rings at Fred 62.

A reuben and a black and white from Cantor’s.

Dim Sum from Ocean Seafood.

Pizza at Village Pizza.

If I can get friends to splurge with me, a steak at The Palm.

A burrito from Yucca’s.

A burrito from Burrito King.

Mexican Food and margaritas from a variety of locations: El Chavo, El Compadre, El Conquistador, El Coyote. . .

What am I forgetting? Oh yes! Noodles at Sanamluang and curry at Palms Thai.

Sushi at Sushi Afloat.

Chili cheese dogs at Pinks.

Chili Cheese fries from Tommy Burger.

Double-Double Animal Style from In and Out.

It is really sad but I could go on and on. . .

I can hardly wait.

I have decided blogs are kinda one sided.. While my beloved and gorgous Thomas Cole is planning ‘California Dreaming’ I returned home to the reminder of the real world.. She cooked fish tonight.. Not a big deal to you all. But me for that means the smell of burnt plastic.. Yep guys, remember when you melted a star wars figures or, the hair of your sisters Barbie. - Well thats Thomas cooking fish. Lord knows how.. I truely think he does wonder wtf .. :(

El Chavo?! Ladies and gentlemen, we now have a name for the first all-night Mexican restaurant in London. ;-)

Thomas Says:

Amity- LOL- I didn’t even think of that! It is a really great restaurant though. And it is next door to the Tiki Ti a bar that after one drink will get you smashed!

Dudette! Your trip to CA sounds great! I’ll be there before you, though. We’re off on Jan. 23 to L.A. for a few days (I’ll visit my mom and sister while Ross works), then Detroit for a couple of days, Houston ditto, then “home” to the condo in Oakland until Feb. 22. Besides Mexican food, American breakfasts with REAL bacon and the deli counter at Piedmont Market for real (cheap) French cheese and olives, I’ll also be doing the clothes shopping thing (clothes are SO expensive here!), plus buying a whole suitcase full of fabrics to bring back. I can’t stomach $25/metre for fabric, when I can buy it in the States for $8 or $9/yard!

I love El Compadre! That was actually the first Mexican restuarant I went to when dating Finx long distance (Chicago-LA).

Thomas Says:

Dianne-

Oh I am going to be putting some serious millage in at JCrew and Bannana- esp with the current exchange rate.

Have fun back home!
