A few years ago, back in Los Angeles, long before I had any idea that I would be living in London, I would bug my British Boss about UK culture because there were so many little things I didn’t get in the films and TV shows that I loved.
For example, I didn’t understand why there would be scenes that took place around Christmas where everyone wore paper crowns, so Ben explained crackers to me. I fell in love with the idea and that Christmas I bought crackers for everyone on my team for the last work day prior to the holiday. We walked around wearing paper crowns and acted very silly all day.

Before I came here he warned, “Don’t say, ‘Nice pants’ to anyone.†I can’t imagine that I would ever say nice pants, but it is sound advice since here pants means underwear.
When I saw the Red Nose Day episode of The Office (which is one of my favourites) I needed him to once again be a cultural anthropologist for me.
For the American’s out there. . . Red Nose Day is a way for Comedy Relief to raise money for Africa and disadvantaged people in the UK and this year it is March 16th.
Troubled Diva has a fantastic idea to raise money for Comedy Relief. He is asking for UK bloggers to send a funny entry and he is going to put a book together and all money raised by sales will be donated.
So if you are living in the UK, send him one of your funny posts!
I’ll post info about how to buy the book when it’s ready!
