Nicole: It’s 5:30. Damn I wanted to finish my (something I don’t want to talk about here because I don’t want to jinx myself) but I kept getting interrupted with work.

Al: Well, that’s just bang out of order.

Nicole (laughs) Yes, it is bang out of order.

PAUSE

Al: American’s really can’t pull that phrase off can they?

Nicole: No, not really. . .

The above conversation reminded me of a chat I had with an english estate agent during a recent visit to London.

When she realised I was American she asked where I was from, then told me she had lived in America for several years. Impressed, I asked where — assuming she’d say NYC, Los Angeles..etc, and she tells me “Madison, Wisconsin”.

I looked at her and said “Oh, so were a cheesehead?”

She immediately responded, whilst shaking her head — “Oh no, I don’t eat dairy”..

I just smiled and nodded

I just love Brits. They’re so funny - but they don’t realise how funny they are! :)
