The UK version of Miranda is:
1. You do not have to say anything.
2. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention, when questioned, something which you later rely on in court.
3. Anything you do say may be given in evidence.

One of these days, when you find yourself with nothing to do, and it happens to be a weekday - you should go sit in on a case being heard at the Old Bailey. I’ve been told it’s quite fun and interesting. I’ve always wanted to do it, and seem to forget about it once there.
