Yes I have been away for a while.I blame twitter. And I blame that there are a lot of things going on that I want to talk about but isn’t blog appropriate. But the main reason is, I really haven’t wanted to.However, I have been wanting to a bit more lately, so here we go.So what is up with me? Not a whole lot. Sorry. Am boring. I am trying to finish this blasted play and I have organised a reading for when I am in LA in April to force me to finish the blasted play. I may change the title to BLASTED PLAY. I think I have a stress rash on my arm. Either that or I have suddenly become allergic to our laundry detergent. Or it’s ring worm. Or skin cancer. Or an alien has buried under my skin and is feeding on me until it bursts out of my body wrecking havoc and mayhem upon the residents of London. My grey streak that only I knew about for years has become much thicker lately. I have been letting it go. I’m not sure if I like it or not. It’s too small at the moment to be a cool Bonnie Raitt streak but too much that it does not go unnoticed. I’m not sure what to do about it. I have spent a lot of time thinking about this. What do you think? Should I dye or should it go?

Been quiet. Sorry. I am more alive on twitter.
I’m alive. All is well. Will try to think of something amusingish soonish that won’t get me fired. You see most of my amusingish stories are around work rigoddamdicluousnesses. Yes. I know that isn’t a real word. I don’t care you OED nazi. Bite me.
Here’s something mildly ha-ha… was glancing at my flickr stream and one of the photos of me “smoking” in Amsterdam has a comment from someone wanting to add it to a group called ‘Sexy Women Inhaling Smoke’.
Is there a fetish that I am not yet aware?

Sorry… I’m alive. All is well. I just have been feeling trite and unbloggy.

I’ve become a twitter addict. I wasn’t always this way. When I first heard about Twitter I thought, lame. Why?
Then I got sucked in to the vortex.
For those that don’t know, twitter is a quick 140 character status update.
Yes. That is all it is.
Where it gets addicting is it is a way to share little moments that you want to throw out there and it can be fun to look back and see where what happened. Other times it is pure navel gazing. It can be amusing (and dangerous) when you are sitting in the pub or you just had a fight with your partner. You must be very careful of drink tweeting.
I currently love twitter however because Stephen Fry is following me. Mr. Fry is following me along with over 9,000+ others and he is only doing that because I started following him, but it’s rather groovy.
I think I like twitter because it is another way of telling a story and another way of connecting to people. I also think it is rather elegant to see what you can communicate in such a small space. . .
You can read my tweets here. Warning. I curse. You know that. And a lot of what I say isn’t very interesting, but you also knew that too.

Stuffed UFO Squash and Salad
Originally uploaded by treefrog girl.
I decided to be terribly middle class and order some organic fruit and veg from a company that sources everything from UK farmers.
In the veg box were these cute little squashes with scalloped edges that after a bit of research I discovered they are aptly called UFO or Patty Pan squash.
I decided to bake and stuff them for dinner and I was really happy with the result. Was really tasty and the squash have a delicate flavor.
Even though the skin was thin and was tender enough to eat, I couldn’t scrub the dirt out completely so I skinned them with a veggie peeler.
Next time I make this I think I will add goat cheese and or sundried tomatoes.
This isn’t a really scientific recipe I’m afraid. When I cook something without a cookbook I usually throw in a bit of this and that and go by instinct… but this is a cakewalk. It’s just sautéing veggies really- not too much and not too little… adding each layer so it builds the flavor.
UFO squash
Onion
Garlic
Celery
Mushrooms
Zucchini
Roasted red pepper
1 Chicken breast – I used leftover meat from the roast chicken I made the night before
olive oil
white wine
tarragon
red pepper flakes
salt and black pepper
Cut squash in half and scoop out seeds. Rub all over with olive oil and salt lightly.
Bake 10 minutes in a preheated 200 C oven. Keep eye on them so they don’t collapse.
Sauté ½ minced onion and 2 garlic cloves until translucent.
Add 1 minced celery stalk… sauté some more on medium low heat. Add 1 diced zucchini… cook some more (can you tell this isn’t a really technical recipe?)
Add 5 minced mushrooms and a splash of white wine.
Add tarragon, Salt, pepper and red pepper flakes to taste.
Simmer until all liquid is gone.
Add 1 minced roasted red pepper and minced cooked chicken breast. Taste for spice…
Stuff squash and bake for aprox 10-15 minutes…
I had a ton extra stuffing mixture left over because I only had 2 squashes. Guessing this is enough to stuff 4-6 (maybe more).

Slept 4 hours or so on the plane. Landed at noon. Napped from 3:30 to 6:30 Bed at 10. Awake at one. (Poor Stu was getting up to sleep on the sofa because I was snoring. We had a 30 second, I’ll go, No, I’ll go discussion which I won.) I took an Advil PM and am drinking chamomile tea whilst on the Internets looking for the meaning of life or a good diet. Rather glad I am working from home tomorrow. I mean today. Later. When that big glowy warm ball thing is in the sky.

Saw the first ad at the company meeting yesterday and I immediatly twittered: “I’m a PC ads kick ass.”
I say that as someone that goes both ways.
I mean, I use a Mac as well… what did you think I meant?
They’re wonderful ads- and if what I saw yesterday of the goodies coming up in software is any indication, there are some amazing things afoot. I may need to buy myself a VAIO for home…

A colleague and a friend of mine in Seattle was robbed and beaten up rather badly at his home.
It sounds like he is ok- as ok as you can be after something like that happening to you.
I really don’t get it.
I have no concept or understanding why or how someone could do something like that.
